This fridge freezer had been switched off by the tenants who had forgotten to empty their food before doing so.  Unfortunately the food had been left for quite some time and started to decompose to such an extent that liquid started leaking out of the fridge onto the kitchen floor.

The Landlord called us because he couldn’t stomach the smell which had filled the entire house.  Once the team were dressed in PPE the decomposing food was removed safely into waterproof sealed bags using plastic shovels and the fridge was cleaned out and treated with antibacterial disinfectant.

The Landlord was delighted that he didn’t have to replace his fridge freezer and his property smelled fresh and ready for marketing.

APM Cleaning Ltd Registered as a SAFE Infecton Control and Cleanliness Partner

APM Cleaning Ltd have registered with Infection Prevention Solutions (IPS) as a SAFE Infection Control and Cleanliness Partner.ips-logo

IPS was formed in response to the requirements of the health and social care sector enabling those service providers without in-house comprehensive Infection Control service provision, to meet the statutory requirements of both the Department of Health and Care Quality Commission (CQC) relating to Infection Prevention and Control standards.

Environmental cleaning in health and care environments is a key intervention in minimising risks of cross-infection and maintaining a Compliance with the Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities).  Standards will be reviewed during the revised Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection process in 2015 which will drive revised inspections.

APM and IPS will work in partnership to ensure that training, delivery of cleaning services, and auditing is conducted in accordance with strict regulations thus ensuring that Primary Care facilities provide a safe environment for patients and pass CQC inspections.


Carpet Cleaning Student Accommodation

Going, going, gone.  Particularly nasty stain at a very busy inner city student accommodation block.  To remove the stain, which was claimed to have been there for a couple of months (why not call us earlier?!), took some effort; stain remover application, pre-spray treatment and three passes with hot wash extraction carpet cleaner using tried, tested and endorsed WoolSafe products.  Great result – customer delighted

Landlord’s Nightmare

Being a Landlord can be a tricky business.  We were recently contacted by an experienced Landlord with a property in Jesmond, who due to business commitments had been unable to complete a thorough post tenancy inspection.  He had taken the word of his letting agent that the property was in a good state of repair and returned the full bond back to his tenants.  Unfortunately when he looked to re-let his property there was a considerable amount of damage to inventory items and also a significant amount of cleaning and rubbish removal required.

The good news is that APM Cleaning Ltd came to the rescue and restored his property to a lettable condition; unfortunately this left the Landlord £100s out of pocket – funds that should have been deducted from the bond.

Determined that he would not be caught out again, the Landlord has instructed APM Cleaning to complete a full care package; move-in inspection plus video and report, midterm and pre move-out inspection, cleaning, rubbish removal and inventory check on move out, move-out inspection, video and report to be used as necessary for TDS challenges on bond deductions.

Air BnB and Meet & Greet

mg-bed-2Since early summer this year we have mg-front-room
been offering a service to support Landlords using Air BnB (there are other online letting agents!).  Our Landlord clients are now into double figures and we have serviced over 300 flats and properties over the last few months.  Things have really taken off (excuse the pun).

We have had several requests ranging from an initial meet and greet, full hotel service (provision of and change of bedding linen and towelling, supply of tea, coffee, bespoke welcome packs), collection of funds and disposal of rubbish and cleaning at the end of the stay.
