As the news of the COVID-19 broke and the world woke up to a very different way of working and living with social distancing and self-isolation, the APM Cleaning and Repair team have stepped forward as front line workers to help keep our customers and the community safe.
A perfect example of our excellent project management is the cover we’ve provided for social housing providers whose regular staff members are shielding or self-isolating with unwell family members. We’ve been lending a hand where we can – like doing alarm pull checks for elderly or vulnerable residents to support Facility Managers who may be unable to work their usual shifts at the moment.
APM is an established business in our region
We’re a major player in the commercial cleaning industry and regularly service a variety of properties across Newcastle and the North from office blocks and care homes to studio flats and stately homes. Our cleaning technicians are fully trained and qualified to BICSc and NVQ Level II in Cleaning & Support standards and all have a minimum of five years’ experience. Our client list ranges from building contractors, property developers, shop fitters, estate and letting agents, private landlords, offices, and surgeries, all of which rely on our services.
We’re living in uncertain times – but we’re here to help
In light of the current situation, which saw Prime Minister Boris Johnson introduce revolutionary curbs on our freedom of movement and work life on 23rd March 2020 to rightly limit the spread of coronavirus, thousands of workers were made redundant and many self-employed people have struggled to retain their income.
Cleaning staff are needed
To date, nearly one million people have applied for universal credit benefits as the coronavirus pandemic has worsened as many find themselves in need of work and fast. Praise for key workers not just in the NHS, but supermarket workers, delivery drivers and cleaners has been loud and proud across the social media, local and national news as supermarket chains seek temporary staff to help re-stock shelves and deliver food to those in isolation.
We’ve recently recruited three new members of staff and look forward to welcoming them onboard our team. If coronavirus has left you with money worries or resulted in redundancy, we’re hiring and would like to hear from you. If you are furloughed from your current employer and want to help in the fight against Covid-19, or are simply going stir-crazy– (working for another organisation DOES NOT affect your furlough salary) please get in touch.
We are looking for experienced team players in the capacity of Cleaning Staff, (especially Cleaners/Drivers). We also have vacancies for experienced Handymen/Carpet Cleaners (these positions must be filled by staff holding clean driving licences). We also have various contracts available in different geographical areas across the North of England to suit a range of applicants.
