Being a Landlord can be a tricky business. We were recently contacted by an experienced Landlord with a property in Jesmond, who due to business commitments had been unable to complete a thorough post tenancy inspection. He had taken the word of his letting agent that the property was in a good state of repair and returned the full bond back to his tenants. Unfortunately when he looked to re-let his property there was a considerable amount of damage to inventory items and also a significant amount of cleaning and rubbish removal required.
The good news is that APM Cleaning Ltd came to the rescue and restored his property to a lettable condition; unfortunately this left the Landlord £100s out of pocket – funds that should have been deducted from the bond.
Determined that he would not be caught out again, the Landlord has instructed APM Cleaning to complete a full care package; move-in inspection plus video and report, midterm and pre move-out inspection, cleaning, rubbish removal and inventory check on move out, move-out inspection, video and report to be used as necessary for TDS challenges on bond deductions.
